Teachers shared previewed links with students who were able to browse, view videos and take notes with their Google Apps for Education (GAFE) accounts provided thru RRISD.
Ms. Wilson and Ms. McBride partnered up their classes and brought them through the steps required to sign into their RRISD Google email. Once the students had access to their gmail accounts, McBride and Wilson were able to share documents with each student via Google Mail and Drive to facilitate their Civil War research. Ms. McGee's second graders researched their family's heritage, and then created a representational doll out of clothes pegs. But they weren't quite finished. As a final project, the students uploaded pictures of their dolls into a PowerPoint Slide where they summarized their research. Students practiced research, writing and summarizing skills as well as technology skills such as importing and re-sizing pictures, manipulating fonts in size, color, location and type, and saving their digital work |
