Fifth grade students at Great Oaks Elementary contribute to the the morning KGOE news broadcast as anchors and technical support, but they also create book trailers which are aired throughout the year. Collaboration between teachers and librarian make the whole thing work. Students have the opportunity to share books through technology. Opportunities to interview other staff or promote causes and projects and happenings in the classroom are created and shared, too.

Ms. Day's first grade class worked in the computer lab using our new Dell Optiplex 7010s. They experimented with 3D and 2D shapes using the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives website created by the University of Chicago. It's a great learning tool. Check it out!
